LEADING Job Release Note 25.8

The latest update introduces five practical enhancements for your daily work with LEADING Job:

A new loading indicator provides greater transparency during extensive data queries, BI export via REST interface enables direct processing of job data in external tools, and customer-specific header and footer texts improve the layout of your quotes and invoices.

A new warning message prevents failed email deliveries in supplier purchase orders, and updated permissions for authorized client invoice drafts offer greater control for the finance department.

In the web application of Leading JOB each update only takes place after prior consultation with the customer. You can test the new features first in your test database.

General

1. New loading indicator in all modules

What’s new? A loading indicator in the footer now shows when the system is actively processing larger data queries.

Why is this important? Loading large volumes of data can take time. Until now, it was often unclear whether the system was still working or had frozen.

The new indicator clearly shows that the system is still processing and loading:

After the process is completed, the field once again displays the number of records as usual:

2. New option for BI export via REST interface

What’s new? Job data can now be exported from LEADING Job to external BI or reporting systems via a REST interface. The interface is accessed through a web-based UI.

Why is this important? This enables custom analyses outside of LEADING Job – for example, in Jira. The feature opens up new possibilities for agencies with advanced reporting needs.

3. Customer-specific header and footer texts

What’s new? You can now define individual header and footer texts for quotes and client invoices on a per-customer basis. By default, the fields inherit the text from the higher-level entity but can be customized for each client.

Why is this important? This allows you to include customer-specific notes or payment terms directly in the document layout. It reduces the need for manual adjustments, prevents errors, and makes your communication more personalized.

4. New information message for missing email address

What’s new? Before sending an email from a supplier purchase order, the system now automatically checks whether a recipient address is provided. If not, a warning message is displayed.

Why is this important? Previously, such emails were still generated, but could not be delivered. The system attempted to send them multiple times, leading to background errors. These errors were invisible to users but showed up in system monitoring. The new message prevents these phantom emails and immediately alerts users to the issue.

5. New privilege for editing authorized client invoice drafts

What’s new? A new privilege has been introduced that allows editing of header-level data in already authorized invoice drafts:

  • “Modify financial details, if already authorized (header level)” (new)

Important: This privilege should only be assigned to finance-savvy and authorized employees.

At the same time, the existing privilege for editing service-level data in authorized drafts has been renamed to:

  • “Modify financial details, if already authorized (service level)”

Important: The ability to change the invoice print title, which was previously included in this privilege, has been removed. This can now only be done using the new header-level privilege.

Why is this important? In many agencies, authorized invoice drafts need to be adjusted occasionally—without revoking their authorization. The new header-level privilege allows for such changes, e.g., invoice titles or accounting details, while maintaining the approval status. This separation between header and service-level editing provides more clarity and control for authorized users.
