LEADING Job Release Note 25.2

With version 25.2, LEADING Job once again brings numerous small yet impactful improvements to everyday work:

The print function has been completely reengineered – eliminating the need for the previous "print server" and making printing faster and more reliable. In time tracking, new settings and smart automation simplify daily entries and evaluations. Reporting has also been enhanced: column totals can now be defined directly in custom reports.

In the web application of Leading JOB each update only takes place after prior consultation with the customer. You can test the new features first in your test database.

General

1. Migration of the Print Routine

Starting with version 25.2, the print routine will be moved to the backend of LEADING Job. This brings several advantages:

  • Layout previews are displayed significantly faster.
  • The previously required additional “Printserver” application is no longer necessary.
  • Image files such as logos or footers will now be centrally managed in the backend – no need for local storage.

Important: Please notify us of any changes to logos or footers and send the new files directly to us – we will take care of the update.

Timesheet

2. Weekly Timesheet: Double-Click to Expand

You can now expand a job's time entries by double-clicking – provided there’s more than one entry.

In addition, the behavior of the + function has been adjusted:

  • The + function now only appears when a time entry already exists in the respective row. This allows you to add another time category for the same job and user on the same day.

  • The previous - function (used to remove unnecessary newly created rows) has been removed, since empty rows now disappear automatically upon update.

3. New User Settings: Hide Jobs with Status “Closed” or “Ready”

Users can now define in their personal settings whether jobs with the status "closed" and/or "ready" should be hidden by default in the timesheet selection:

  • This applies to both already visible jobs and when adding new ones.
  • It helps keep the list more manageable and focused on current projects.

You can find these options under “User Settings”:

And within the “Timesheet” section:

5. New System Setting: Define Start Time as a Required Field

Starting with version 25.2, you can define that every time entry must include a mandatory start time. This is particularly useful for accurate evaluations in the “Daily Working Time” report.

The setting can be found under Administration > System > Systemsettings >  Timesheet:

If no value is entered, the field will be highlighted in red and an error message will appear:

6. Updated Confirmation Message When Removing a Job

When removing a job from the timesheet, a new, more clearly worded confirmation message will now appear to help prevent accidental deletions.
